Crop and size a photo, image or picture for an exam or ID form, and check it against the form's published rule before you upload. With the SSC row selected, out comes a 413×531 JPEG with 300 ppi written, between 20 and 50 KB.
Forms fail photos for three numbers: the size, the density and the KB range. Choose the form under Requirement and all three are set, with the source and the date the row was checked. The encoder lowers quality to get under the maximum and raises it to reach the minimum; it does not shrink the pixels the form fixed unless you say so. Then the verdict under the contract reads the file that Download will save and checks each clause.
For a passport or visa photo use the passport photo cropper; for a class or office of applicants at once, bulk crop applies one row to every photo. All rows are in the spec table.
What you can do here
A KB range, honestly
Minimum and maximum. Quality is raised or lowered to land inside; a file is never padded to reach a minimum.
The form fixes the pixels
When a row fixes the size, the pixels are kept. If the KB ceiling cannot be met, the page says so and offers to shrink only if you choose.
Sourced and dated
Every row names its source and its checked-on date. Secondary-source rows are labelled and never show a pass.
Photo and signature
Signature rows sit in the same list, so both uploads for one form are done on one page.
How to photo crop for exam forms
- 1Open the photo
Drop the photo. It is decoded in this tab and goes nowhere else.
- 2Pick the form and frame it
The SSC photo is selected; choose another row under Requirement. Drag the box so the face sits in the dashed oval.
- 3Check the verdict, then download
The contract shows the size, density and KB; the verdict checks every clause on the file. Download saves exactly that file.

Questions about cropping
My form says 20–50 KB. What if my file comes out at 12 KB?
Choose the form's row, or set Min 20 and Max 50 under Export. The cropper raises the JPG quality until the file reaches the minimum. If even the highest quality gives a file under it, the contract says so with the real number and suggests cropping a larger area or choosing a larger output size. It never pads a file with junk bytes to reach a minimum, because a portal can reject that too.
The form gives the size in cm, not pixels. What do I enter?
Nothing: the requirement does the arithmetic. The SSC photo is about 3.5×4.5 cm, which at 300 pixels per inch is 413×531 pixels, and that density is written into the JPG so the file states its physical size. For another form, convert with pixels = cm ÷ 2.54 × ppi, then type the width and height under Export.
Can I do the photo and the signature on the same page?
Yes, one after the other. Crop and download the photo with its row selected, then press Change photo, open the photo of your signature and choose the signature row (the SSC signature is about 4.0×2.0 cm, 10–20 KB). The signature is framed and sized like any other crop; nothing about the ink is changed.
Does a pass mean my form will be accepted?
No. A pass means the file meets each clause of the published requirement as it was checked on the date shown: pixel size, real resolution, density, plain top corners and the KB range. A portal can still reject a photo for things a cropper cannot see, such as glasses, a cap or an old photo. Rows taken only from a secondary source never show a pass; they show a check and tell you to confirm on the form's own instructions.
Which exams and forms are listed?
The SSC photo and signature (read in an SSC notice) and the PAN application photo and signature (from secondary sources, labelled as such). The full list, with every source and checked-on date, is the spec table at /specs. Exams are rows in that table rather than separate pages, so a new notice means a new row.
Why is the PAN row marked as a secondary source?
Its numbers (213×213 px at 200 dpi, up to 30 KB) were found on photo services' pages, not read on the issuing portal. The site shows them because many people need them, labels them on every surface, and does not let any clause show a pass until they are verified on the portal itself.
