Crop and resize a photo, picture or image in one pass. Frame the shot with the crop box, then tell the cropper exactly how many pixels you want out — and, if a form demands it, how many kilobytes. It is the same engine as the main cropper, opened with the export panel expanded.
Most sites that ask you to “crop and resize” really want three things at once: the right framing, an exact pixel size, and a file under a limit. Application portals want 200×230 signatures and 3.5×4.5 cm photos under 50 KB; marketplaces want 1000×1000 squares; websites want 1200 px wide JPGs under 200 KB. Set the ratio chip, drag the crop, type the size, choose a format and press Download. The resampling happens on your device, and the contract line above the button states what comes out: the crop size, the output size, the scale between them and the encoded bytes. If the size you asked for is bigger than the area you cropped, it says so rather than quietly enlarging.
Common targets: passport photo 35×45 mm, Instagram 1080×1080, YouTube thumbnail 1280×720, WhatsApp DP 500×500.
What you can do here
Exact pixel output
Type the width or height; the other side follows the crop ratio. Unlink to force a fixed box.
Scale chips
0.5×, 1× or 2× the crop size in one tap.
JPG, PNG, WebP
Choose the format the destination wants; Auto keeps the source format.
Quality with live estimate
Drag the quality slider and watch the estimated file size update.
Target size in KB
Enter 20, 50, 100 or 200 KB and the encoder finds the best quality that fits.
High-quality resampling
Progressive downscaling keeps text and edges crisp when shrinking a lot.
Ratios and presets
Lock 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, A4 or any custom ratio, or pick a platform preset with its pixel size built in.
Batch resize
Add multiple photos and export each with the same crop ratio and output size.
How to crop and resize image
- 1Upload and crop
Drop the picture in, choose a ratio chip if you need one and drag the crop box over the part to keep.
- 2Set the output size
Under Export, type the width or height in pixels — or tap 0.5×, 1× or 2×. Pick JPG, PNG or WebP and a quality, or a KB limit.
- 3Download
Press Download. The file is saved with the final pixel size in its name so you can check it at a glance.
Questions about cropping
What is the difference between cropping and resizing?
Cropping removes part of the picture to change what is in the frame. Resizing scales the whole picture to a different number of pixels. This tool does both in one go: you choose the framing with the crop box, then the export size scales that crop to the pixels you need.
How do I crop and resize to exact dimensions, for example 600×600?
Pick the 1:1 ratio chip (or Custom for other shapes), position the crop, then type 600 into Width under Export. Height follows automatically while the link icon is on. Press Download.
Will resizing after cropping blur my photo?
Shrinking is safe and uses high-quality resampling with progressive downscaling. Enlarging beyond the crop's pixel size will soften the picture because there is no extra detail to add — the tool shows the crop's native size so you can decide.
How do I get a picture under 50 KB (or 20 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB)?
Turn on Save as target size under Export and enter the limit. The cropper searches for the highest JPG/WebP quality that fits, and only shrinks the dimensions if it has to. The final size is shown on the Download button.
Which format should I choose?
JPG for photographs (smallest files), PNG for screenshots, graphics and anything needing transparency, WebP for the web when small size matters and the destination accepts it. Auto keeps the original format.
Can I resize without changing the aspect ratio?
Yes. With the link icon on, width and height stay tied to the crop's ratio. Turn it off only if you deliberately want to stretch the output to a fixed box.
Is anything uploaded to resize the image?
No. The crop rectangle, the resample down to your output size and the encode all run on a canvas in this tab, and the repeated encoding behind a KB target runs in a Web Worker on the same machine. None of it involves a round trip; the site ships as static files and has no route that accepts an image.
