Ready

Drop several at once, or a whole folder, and they stack up in name order — each one is cropped in turn, and the sheet count below the frame tells you where you are.

*opens wherever your browser can decode it, and saves as JPG, PNG or WebP. An iPhone HEIC photo opens in Safari; other browsers say so and explain how to get a JPG. An animated GIF or WebP gives its first frame. Up to 80 megapixels and 150 MB per photo.

Heart is selected. Pick another shape under Shape, add an outline or a background colour if you want one, then Download.

Crop a photo, image or picture into a heart, star, hexagon or another shape with the background left transparent. Out comes a PNG with everything outside the shape empty, or a JPG on a colour you choose.

The shape is drawn on the crop box while you frame, from the same path that cuts the file, so what you see is what is saved. Add an outline inside the edge if you want the shape to read on a busy background.

Just a circle: circle crop. An avatar that survives every mask: PFP cropper. A transparent source kept exact: crop PNG. Guides: how to crop a picture into a circle.

What you can do here

  • Seven shapes

Circle, oval, rounded rectangle (any radius), heart, star, squircle and hexagon. The same path draws the preview and cuts the file.

  • Transparent or coloured

Transparent saves as PNG (or WebP where this browser writes it); pick a background colour and JPG is allowed.

  • An outline, like a mat

A 0–8 px line in any colour, drawn inside the shape's edge so the shape keeps its size.

  • Edges that are smooth

The mask is applied at the output size with anti-aliased edges, so a heart at 1080 px is as clean as one at 200.

Transparent shapes save as PNG. The contract states the size, format and KB.

Questions about cropping

Which shapes can I crop a photo into?

Circle, oval, rounded rectangle with an adjustable radius, heart, star, squircle and hexagon. Circle, heart, star and squircle keep the box square; oval, rounded and hexagon can be any proportion.

Why is the background transparent?

Everything outside the shape is left empty, so the shape can sit on any colour. Transparency needs PNG or WebP; pick a background colour under Shape and JPG becomes available.

What does the outline do?

It draws a line of 0 to 8 pixels in your colour just inside the shape's edge, like a mat around a print. It frames the photo; it is not a filter.

Can I make a heart crop for a profile picture?

Yes, but most apps show avatars as a circle and will cut the heart's points off. The PFP cropper previews what a circle, rounded square and squircle keep.

How big is the file?

The crop's own pixels by default, or any size you set under Export. The contract above Download gives the pixel size and the KB before you save.

Can I draw my own shape?

Not yet: freehand and polygon outlines are planned. Today the seven shapes cover what most people ask for.
